A trip up the Medway River

A couple of weeks ago I joined the Medway Swale Estuary Partnership on a trip up the Medway River looking for litter hotspots and revisiting some of the places that inspired me to write my book On the Marshes.

  1. The current lifestyles we’re now adapting to #stayingathome , could mean more people have to dispose of their litter (bottles & cans etc ) in their own home refuse bins, instead of being able to dump it everywhere & anywhere. The curtailment of mass social gathering events whence large amounts of litter get generated, must have an effect.

Could this CV19 catastrophe end up producing (along with reduction in air pollution) , some more unexpected benefits for nature?
