A bumper day for heath fritillary butterflies

heath fritilary underwingA bumper day for Heath fritillaries in Thorndon and East Blean Woods outside of Canterbury. I swear it was the most common butterfly on the searingly hot woodland rides. Was also lucky enough to spot a white admiral which came to check me out with a fly by. heath fritilary mating
